I’ve got something to say –

– and that something is welcome.

You could be doing a lot of things right now. Perhaps there are things you should be doing (whatever “should” actually means anyway.)

But you’re here. So, thanks for being curious.

I’m not a regular poster – but I think I want to try. I journal privately and I write professionally, so why not do a little mix of the two?

Could be interesting?

With these writing “confessions” or blog posts, I would like to share something. At the end of the day, I just want to share. I want to connect.

Writing is a very independent process which means that it can be a very lonely one.

I spend a lot of my day typing, or thinking about typing, or trying to get myself to just start typing. I like to use a pencil and paper when I can to remind myself that words can actually exist in the physical realm.

The task of deletion and revision is required of writers. It’s inevitable to leave behind most of the words you once considered choosing. With that in mind, it’s nice to be able to see smudges of lead on my hand or be able to smell eraser scrubs. Then I know that there were words there. Then it’s somehow worth it.

Ok – maybe this was a bit existential but I’m not sure how else to begin the process of sharing myself with you.

You see, I want to be honest, and that means it’ll be at least a little messy. In a physical and virtual world of noise, I want my noise to at least be authentic.

So, in whatever state you find this, welcome. I’m glad you’re here.
